jRite Legal Terms
1. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS
These Terms of Use, Privacy Notice, and Disclaimers (collectively, the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of jRite.com, related pages, accounts, software, devices, interactive journeys, communications, products, and services that link to these Terms (collectively, the “Services”). jRite is owned and operated by ReadingsEnterprises (“jRite,” “ReadingsEnterprises,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, submitting a reading, purchasing Rite Credits, booking a service, or buying a provider product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Additional terms displayed for a particular provider, product, booking, promotion, or feature also apply. If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the more specific terms control for that transaction.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND AGE
You must be at least 21 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to purchase or use any products or any paid, divination, AI-assisted, or provider Services. All such products and Services are intended exclusively for adults. By purchasing, accessing, or using them, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. READINGS, JOURNEYS, AND ENTERTAINMENT DISCLAIMER
Tarot, oracle, rune, I Ching, energy, intuitive, symbolic, spiritual, coaching-style, and other jRite readings or journeys are interpretive experiences. They may encourage reflection but cannot establish facts, predict events with certainty, diagnose conditions, or guarantee an outcome. Purchasing or receiving a reading pays for access to the stated experience or service—not for accuracy, a favorable interpretation, or a particular result.
The Services do not provide and are not substitutes for medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, tax, financial, investment, employment, relationship, business, or other licensed professional advice. No use of the Services creates a doctor-patient, therapist-client, lawyer-client, fiduciary, or similar professional relationship with jRite. Consult an appropriately qualified professional about decisions in those areas.
You remain solely responsible for your choices, actions, and results. Never delay or disregard professional care because of a reading or Service. jRite is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the United States, you may call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
4. INDEPENDENT PROVIDERS AND PROVIDER STORES
jRite may display independent readers, coaches, practitioners, sponsors, merchants, or other providers (“Providers”). Unless we expressly state otherwise, Providers are independent businesses and are not jRite employees, agents, partners, joint venturers, or legal representatives. A Provider’s presence on jRite is not a certification, professional endorsement, or guarantee of qualifications, accuracy, conduct, availability, or results.
Providers control and are responsible for their own descriptions, claims, pricing, scheduling, services, products, taxes, fulfillment, cancellations, and Provider-specific policies. A direct purchase from a Provider—including a purchase made through a Provider PayPal button—is a transaction between you and that Provider. Questions about delivery, appointments, merchandise, direct charges, cancellations, refunds, or chargebacks should first be sent to the applicable Provider.
jRite may investigate complaints and may restrict, suspend, or remove a Provider or listing, but does not assume the Provider’s obligations. When a service is expressly described as “provider-reviewed” or “provider-supervised,” the applicable Provider is responsible for providing the stated level of review or supervision.
5. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Some features use artificial intelligence (“AI”) to generate or assist with interpretations, summaries, or responses. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, unexpected, or inappropriate. It is not verified fact, professional judgment, or a substitute for human review. You must independently evaluate all AI-assisted content before relying on it.
To produce an AI-assisted response, we may transmit your question, selected journey, reading history, and necessary instructions to third-party AI service providers. Do not submit passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, detailed medical records, or other information that is not necessary for your reading. More information appears in the Privacy Notice below.
6. ACCOUNTS AND SECURITY
You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, protect your login credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. You may not share, sell, or transfer an account or use another person’s account without authorization.
7. RITE CREDITS
Rite Credits are a limited, revocable digital entitlement that may be used only for eligible jRite Services. They are not money, legal tender, cryptocurrency, a bank account, or stored monetary value; do not earn interest; have no cash value; and may not be sold, transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash except where required by law.
The number of credits required for an action is shown before submission and may vary by feature or Provider. Credits are deducted when a paid action is accepted for processing. If our records confirm a duplicate deduction or a technical failure that prevented delivery, we may restore the affected credits after review. A disliked, unfavorable, unexpected, or allegedly inaccurate reading does not by itself establish a technical failure or a right to restoration.
Any expiration, promotional restriction, bonus-credit rule, or package-specific condition will be disclosed when the credits are offered. Purchased and promotional credits may be treated differently. We may change future credit prices or requirements, discontinue a credit feature, correct an erroneous balance, or prevent fraudulent use, subject to applicable law. Remaining credits may be suspended during an investigation and may be forfeited if an account is terminated for fraud, abuse, chargeback misuse, or a material violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
8. PRICES, PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS, AND REFUNDS
Prices, credit requirements, availability, and offers may change before purchase. You authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the amount shown at checkout. PayPal and other processors handle payment information under their own terms and privacy policies; jRite generally does not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
Purchases of Rite Credits from jRite and direct purchases from Providers are separate transactions. Provider-store payments may be sent directly to the Provider’s payment account. The Provider—not jRite—is responsible for Provider merchandise, appointments, direct-sale taxes, fulfillment, cancellation terms, refunds, and payment disputes.
Except where a specific offer states otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise, completed digital readings, delivered AI responses, and used Rite Credits are final. Dissatisfaction with a reading’s message, interpretation, or perceived accuracy is not grounds for a refund. Duplicate charges, undelivered paid Services, canceled appointments, physical goods, unused balances, and billing errors are handled according to the applicable checkout disclosure, Provider policy, payment-processor process, and law. Contact us promptly with the transaction reference and relevant details if you believe a jRite charge is incorrect.
9. USER CONTENT AND READING DATA
You retain ownership of questions and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant jRite a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce, format, transmit, display, and share User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and deliver the requested Services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
To deliver a reading, the complete question, selected journey, card or result history, interpretation, and related account information may be sent to you and may also be copied to the selected Provider and jRite administrator. Necessary information may be processed by hosting, email-delivery, security, payment, and AI vendors. Ordinary email may not be encrypted end-to-end. By submitting a reading, you direct and consent to these transmissions.
You must have the right to submit User Content. Do not submit confidential information belonging to another person, content that violates law or another person’s rights, or unnecessary sensitive information. If your question concerns another person, avoid identifying details unless you have permission to provide them.
10. ACCEPTABLE USE
You may not use the Services to:
- break the law, facilitate fraud, impersonate another person, or infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
- submit threatening, abusive, exploitative, defamatory, deceptive, or malicious content;
- introduce malware, overload or disrupt the Services, probe security, access another account, or bypass access, payment, credit, rate, or usage controls;
- scrape, harvest, reverse engineer, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Services except as expressly authorized in writing; or
- use output to make automated high-impact decisions about another person’s health, employment, housing, credit, insurance, legal rights, or access to essential services.
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Services and their software, interfaces, journey formats, layouts, text, graphics, animations, audiovisual elements, branding, and original content are owned by jRite, ReadingsEnterprises, Providers, licensors, or other rights holders and are protected by intellectual-property laws. jRite and MysticQR names and branding may not be used without permission. Provider content remains owned by the Provider, and third-party deck art and content remain owned by their respective rights holders.
Subject to these Terms, jRite grants you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Services for personal, noncommercial purposes. No other rights are granted. Copyright concerns may be sent to info@jrite.com with identification of the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a good-faith statement explaining the claim.
12. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
The Services may link to or integrate with Providers, PayPal, scheduling platforms, AI vendors, email systems, or other third parties. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. jRite does not control and is not responsible for third-party availability, content, security, acts, omissions, or transactions. A link or integration does not imply endorsement.
13. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
You consent to receive electronic transactional communications needed to provide the Services, including readings, receipts, login or security notices, account notices, and Provider communications you request. Transactional messages are not marketing messages.
We will send promotional or marketing communications only as permitted by law and, where required, after separate consent. You may unsubscribe using the link in a marketing message. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary transactional, security, or legal communications.
14. AVAILABILITY, CHANGES, AND TERMINATION
We may update, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services; refuse a transaction; or suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, suspected fraud, legal compliance, Provider complaints, nonpayment, or violation of these Terms. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
You may stop using the Services at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute terms, indemnification, and privacy obligations—will survive.
15. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES, PROVIDER LISTINGS, READINGS, AI OUTPUT, CONTENT, AND PRODUCTS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH JRITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” JRITE DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RESULTS, SECURITY, AND UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT OR OUTPUT WILL BE CORRECT, COMPLETE, SAFE, USEFUL, OR FREE OF ERRORS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and you may have additional rights.
16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JRITE, ReadingsEnterprises, AND THEIR OWNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY; OR LOSSES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON A READING OR AI OUTPUT, PROVIDER CONDUCT, THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS WAS POSSIBLE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JRITE’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO JRITE FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM DURING THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY. PAYMENTS MADE DIRECTLY TO A PROVIDER ARE NOT AMOUNTS PAID TO JRITE. THESE LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED.
17. INDEMNIFICATION
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless jRite, ReadingsEnterprises, and their owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your User Content, misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights. This obligation does not require indemnification for a claim caused solely by an indemnified party’s unlawful conduct.
18. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your residence requires otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to send a written description of the dispute and requested resolution to info@jrite.com and allow 30 days for an informal response. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or filing an eligible claim in small-claims court.
Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court with lawful jurisdiction in California, unless applicable consumer law permits or requires a different forum. Nothing in these Terms waives non-waivable consumer rights. These Terms do not require binding arbitration and do not waive a right to a jury trial or class proceeding where such rights otherwise apply.
19. PRIVACY NOTICE
Information we collect
We may collect information you provide, including name, email address, account details, Provider selection or PIN, questions, journey choices, reading and card history, bookings, support requests, and transaction references. Payment processors collect payment details under their own policies. We may also collect device, browser, IP address, log, cookie, security, and usage information generated when you use the Services.
How we use information
We use information to provide and personalize the Services; create and deliver readings; operate accounts and Rite Credits; process and reconcile transactions; communicate with you; prevent abuse and fraud; troubleshoot and improve performance; enforce these Terms; and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We may share information with the Provider you select; jRite administrators; and vendors that provide hosting, databases, email delivery, analytics, security, customer support, payment processing, scheduling, and AI processing. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business reorganization, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information for money.
Reading emails and Provider copies
A submitted reading may be emailed in full to you, the selected Provider, and jRite administration for delivery, continuity, support, and recordkeeping. These messages may contain your question, journey, selected cards or results, history, and interpretation. Do not submit information you do not want included in those communications.
Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies, local storage, logs, and similar technologies for login, preferences, security, performance, and analytics. Browser settings may allow you to block some technologies, but doing so may prevent parts of the Services from working.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including service delivery, transaction records, security, disputes, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary by data type and obligation. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no storage or transmission method—including ordinary email—is completely secure.
Your choices and California rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. We will verify and respond to requests as required by applicable law, subject to exceptions for security, transactions, legal obligations, and legitimate recordkeeping. California residents may have additional rights to know, correct, delete, or receive information about certain data practices and may exercise those rights without unlawful discrimination. Because our practices and legal obligations can change, contact us for the disclosures applicable to your request.
Children and international use
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us. If you access jRite outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our Providers and vendors operate, subject to applicable law.
20. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Services, law, or business practices. The “Last updated” date identifies the latest revision. When legally required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Services.
21. GENERAL TERMS
These Terms and applicable transaction-specific terms are the entire agreement between you and jRite regarding the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations without our consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale, or transfer of the Services. Headings are for convenience only. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events reasonably beyond its control, except payment obligations. These Terms do not create third-party beneficiary rights unless expressly stated.
